Changes observer direction in order to face the north.

To access to any point directly from its cartographic coordinates, or search a place from its name if a toponyms database has been defined in the project.

This tool is used to consult attributes of GIS objects included in the 3D model. Select the tool and click on any GIS object to display its tabular attributes.
Press “Esc” key to release the information tool.

Global view

Show/hide the global view if it’s defined in the project.

Relief exaggeration

Use this function to improve relief perception (value 1 corresponds to a natural relief).

Focal

Changes the focal of the camera (changes the view angle).

Stereo Display (F3)

Stereo mode enables anaglyph 3D display to enhance realism using anaglyph glasses.

Display quality

On some system you can improve the frame rate by decreasing display quality. In most of cases, ‘Normal quality' is the best option.
The option "Permanent image refresh" can be used to improve image quality during rapid movements.
The option "Disable texture filtering" can be used to eliminate black lines crossing the 3D model on systems not able to use properly texture filtering.

Internet settings

Setup the Internet connection and proxy serverfor remote data server access.

Full screen mode / window mode

Shift Viewer display.

Snapshot

This tool allows you to create a screen shot of the current 3D view.
Choose a name for the Jpeg image to be created.

Language

Choose the language you want and restart the Viewer to take the new language into account.

3D visualization of cartographic data (DTM and images)

These features extracted from SpacEyes3D Builder allow to quickly visualize in 3D a draped image on a DTM.

picto-15New Project

To create a 3D model from a DTM and an ortho-image.
In the Project creation window, just specify a DTM and an ortho-image to drape.
The Digital Terrain Model must be in raster format (regular grid).
The image to drape must be in the same projection system than the DTM.
Notice:
Some image and DTM formats are really slow to read especially for large databases (asc, jpeg, png…). We advise to use optimized image formats (pyramidal tiled Tiff, ECW...).
This construction function is extracted from SpacEyes3D Builder.

Openning a DTM is an easy way to visualize in 3D a Digital Terrain Model. This function also works by drag-and-drop of the DTM file on the SpacEyes3D Viewer window if there isn't any DTM which already defined.

Open| Add a georeferenced image...

A DTM must be defined before. The selected image is draped dynamically on the DTM. SpacEyes3D Viewer limits georeferenced image layout to one image : any other image is automatically removed. This function also works by drag-and-drop of the image file on the SpacEyes3D Viewer window if a DTM is already defined.

How to use the relief toolbox?

1) Enter a Digital Terrain Model (in raster format)
2) Select the type of process to apply
3) Choose process parameters
4) Launch the process with the button “Launch process”

Shading
Georeferenced color image of the shaded relief. (This tool doesn't compute projected shadows, only the relief orientation is used)

Slopes
Georeferenced raster file giving for each pixel the slop in degrees or in percent.

Aspect
Georeferenced raster file giving for each pixel the azimuth of the slope.

Color relief
Georeferenced image colored according DTM elevations. Color ramps can be specified from a simple text file defining colors. This tool can also be used to color any raster information layer (for instance slope map or aspect map).

Vector file of polylines in Shp format containing selected isolines.

Easy usage with SpacEyes3D Viewer

The DTM used in SpacEyes3D Viewer is used by default if the application is call from the SpacEyes3D Viewer "Tools and settings" menu. Just like SpacEyes3D Viewer, the relief tool box supports drag-and-drop to enter the DTM file. Produced results and previews support drag-and-drop to SpacEyes3D Viewer.
